Creating Solar Houses and determining how they work |
We have been very busy at West Madison this month. Teachers have students reading more non fiction text. The fifth grade studied about Henry David Thoreau. They each chose a quote and illustrated what the quote meant to them. In science the students created solar houses and determined how solar energy works.
It is hard to believe that Tuesday will be Oct. 1. Football games are in full swing. Don't forget about the Madison Street Festival coming up on Oct. 5. I am sure it will be lots of fun.
Oct. 1 will be Spirit Day at 32 Degrees on Hwy. 72.
Please wear your West Madison shirt to school on Tuesday of this week and let's all go to 32 Degrees to get some ice cream to support our school. You were sent a flyer via email on Friday, please print the flyer and take it with you to the restaurant. You must present the flyer for us to get credit. We will use our money to purchase additional technology for our school. Our Kindergarten teachers do not have a working interactive board. We need to purchase a Mimeo that will attach to their current projectors to make it interactive like the Smartboards the other teachers have. Each Mimeo costs $700 a piece. Please help us purchase these Mimeos.
Thank you always for your support. Have a great week!
